Workshop by Anders Petersen @ Hasselblad Center, Gothenburg, SE > 31.8-1.9 2024
At the end of this month I am traveling to Gothenburg to attend a two-day workshop with Anders Petersen (age 80). I have tried several times in the past, but either it did not fit into the agreement book or it was canceled by the organiser. So finally, now the opportunity came.
Anders Petersen, together with Jacob Aue Sobol and Daido Moriyama, has played an important role in my own development within photography. It is these three names that have dominated what has become my style and preferred expression. So now, finally, to be able to participate in two dedicated days with Anders is really a great pleasure.
We have met several times over time, most recently during the Gothenburg street photo festival. There I told him about the girl in my neighboring village, up here in Telemark in Norway, – she who has worked as an assistant for both Anders and J.H. Engström and who ended up at a cheese factory far into Telemark. Nina was the name! He remembered Nina well…
Yes, I was also listening to Anders during the opening of Ralph Nyquist’s exhibition in Helsingborg. Well, many of the stories have been heard before anyway. About Cafè Lemitz and so on, but primarily it’s the pictures that speak to me, so you can bear to hear the stories a few more times.
Sweden, Gothenburg and the Hasselblad Centre, now I’m on my way soon!
