A short report from northern Norway:
1000 kilometers each way to show photographs and give a lecture. All part of a joint exhibition together with Bjørn Borgen, Oddmund Omre, Linnea Sofie Fagerli-Orvik and Oddbjørn Larsen. The whole event was initiated by the artist organization “Sør i Nord”, led by Espen Tversland and Ørjan Elias Ebbesen-Eikemo.

Personaly I showed black-and-white images, both digital captures and some analog photographs shot on film. Bjørn Borgen had a series of images from China; Oddmund had three photos taken with a mobile phone in street settings; Oddbjørn also had three images, all portraits taken with an 8×10 camera. Linnea, the exhibition’s young talent, had won a scholarship for young artists last year and presented two color photographs — the only color images in the show.

The monday evening lecture…
The lecture went very well, and somewhere between 25 and 30 people attended that Monday evening. They had about an hour and fifteen minutes before we wrapped up with questions from the audience. The topics were photographic nerve, composition tricks, and a bit of pep talk about how the subject and its content are more important than lenses, absolut sharpnes and gear, -a theme I preach whenever I can. Many nice responses have come in since that evening.
I would like to conclude by thanking “Sør i Nord” for all their support and for the initiative. I had a wonderful week up there in the far north.
