NFT Collection: The Beauty of the Decay

This is a series of pictures taken at an abandoned psychiatric hospital. If the walls of these rooms had been able to talk, there would be stories we do not want to hear. When the pictures were taken, only the empty shells were left. Today, the buildings are leveled with the earth and the story is buried with them.

Hidden, but not forgotten!

The decay that appears in these images has, despite everything, a kind of beauty in it. And when we add the story, these motifs represent a window into a gang of time. Psychiatry’s abuse of living patients through the 50s and 60s.

So in the memories of this I have tried to see the beautiful in the ugly.

The motifs are from Lier psychiatric hospitals in Norway. Catched in building E and B. They were taken in year 2010. In December 2017, these two buildings were deleted with the earth and buried the story forever.
